At Rosehill Wine Cellars, we’ve always believed that great wine deserves a great home. The space in which wine is stored, displayed, and enjoyed should tell a story — one that reflects both craftsmanship and character. Our recent collaboration with Tawse Winery in Niagara embodies that belief in every curve, texture, and line.
A Vision Rooted in Craft and Place
Tawse Winery has built a reputation for artisanal winemaking and sustainable practices, producing some of Ontario’s most celebrated wines. When it came time to elevate their tasting experience, the goal was clear: to create a space that would showcase their wines with warmth, sophistication, and purpose.
Rosehill Wine Cellars was entrusted with designing and building a custom tasting room that harmonized with the winery’s architecture — a blend of rustic textures, contemporary lines, and the timeless beauty of wood and stone.
From Concept to Craft
Our design team began with a clear objective: to transform a functional tasting area into an architectural statement. The final design, captured in our detailed elevations and plans, features a signature curved racking wall that draws the eye from every angle.
Each element was meticulously designed and handcrafted, including:
- 750ml individual bottle storage for organized and climate-appropriate housing,
- angled display racks that highlight feature vintages and labels, and-
- deep lower cabinetry providing both storage and balance to the composition above.
The curve of the upper racking was carefully engineered to create a sense of movement and depth, giving the room a sculptural quality. This flowing design mirrors the rhythm of the winemaking process — patient, deliberate, and beautifully layered.
Material Harmony
The use of rich natural wood against stone walls and concrete floors creates a visual and tactile balance — modern yet warm, architectural yet inviting. The racking’s craftsmanship ensures not just durability, but elegance: every joint, shelf, and finish was chosen to complement Tawse’s refined aesthetic.
Under soft lighting, the bottles become the focal point — each label illuminated as part of the tasting story. Whether visitors are sampling a crisp Riesling or a bold Pinot Noir, the space provides a sensory experience that enhances every pour.
A Space Worth Tasting
The completed tasting room is more than a place to enjoy wine — it’s a celebration of design, craftsmanship, and collaboration. From the first sketch to the final screw, our work with Tawse Winery reflects what Rosehill Wine Cellars stands for: custom, handcrafted excellence.
We’re proud to have contributed to a space where guests can truly appreciate the art of Tawse wines — surrounded by the artistry of fine cellar design.
