Project Overview

A homeowner with a passion for wine collecting was renovating his home. Within the larger home renovation project was a plan to install a custom-built wine cellar built for a large wine collection. It was intended to become a feature piece of the home renovation.

The homeowner only had a vision for the location of the wine cellar, nothing more. But he had been a Rosehill Wine Cellars repeat customer for smaller projects in the past, and he trusted our design-build team to create his latest wine cellar project.

A TOUCH OF LUXURY

The initial consultation involved a conversation in which the client shared their vision for the wine cellar. During the design consultation process our experts used the takeaways to draft CAD drawings that created a realistic model of the finished wine cellar.

The client was then informed about the importance of larger capacity wine cellar cooling units due to the size of the collection and cellar—specifically, the impact it has on helping the critical process of aging wine. The client was adamant about having custom, high-quality wine racks that could support their large collection.

  1. Custom Grand Cru racking: our own custom racks capable of storing over 4000 wine bottles.
  2. Wood type: quarter sawn white oak, natural finish. Racks finished with a base and crown trim.
“At Rosehill Wine Cellars, we can design your custom wine cellar, starting with an idea, simple drawing or concept.”

Mike Domazet, Owner/CEO

The Transformation

The client's wine cellar was manufactured at our in-house 25,000 square foot facility. The wine cellar was assembled to match the approved CAD designs, and the components were shipped to the client’s home for assembly and installation.

Our in-house installation and assembly teams mapped out a phased construction process, breaking down each aspect of the installation into four sequential phases:

1. Framing, drywall & ductwork 2. Installation of the Wine Guardian cooling system 3. Installation of our custom Grand Cru racking 4. Installation of a metal cellar door
