F17 & 18 Curved Base / Crown & Molding
Description
F17C Inside Corner is what is needed for a regular room.
The F18C outside corner is rarely used.
Please note this base system at 1" high.
The previous based was 1½" high.
The platform is 1" black melamine to be placed directly on the ground. While the manufacturer, doesn't state anything, we suggest placing a sheet of plastic on top of the floor where the base is to go to act as a moisture barrier.
The height of the face molding is 1 3/16", adjusted to match the base, cover any shims under the base if needed, and overlap the racking.
Once the racks are installed you can't really see through to the melamine and further to that, once you bottles are in place, you definitely can't see through. Unless you want a base that is higher, you can't build a better base for less than our cost.
Please keep in mind that base and crown are not necessary. Your racks can sit right on the ground or you can build your own base using a larger baseboard and crown moulding. The base provides a more finished look to your racks and allows an area to shim for any floor unevenness.
Add 2" to your racking layout height if you want to put one section on the top and one section on the bottom of your racks. Don't forget to finish off with molding end caps (F23C) if the sides of your racks are visible. You may also want quarter round (F21C) to add extra detail to your molding.
This California Redwood Modular Wine Rack system is ideal for the wine lover who wants a customized wine cellar at a great price!
Modular Redwood Wine Racking Accessories
No other wood wine rack system offers the same price and ease of installation as our modular California Redwood wine racks. The only tool required to assemble these wine racks is a hammer, and to install, a screwdriver. All hardware is included for assembly and installation on the wall.
We strongly suggest using a brad nailer or professional staple gun to put the racks together as opposed to the nails supplied. Using the nails included with the kits may cause unnecessary splitting of the wood. The wine racks must be fastened to the wall - They are NOT freestanding. The installation manuals are available on line, look at the specific racking pages to see the manual
There are NO PLUGS on the front of these racks. A clean look with smooth radius edges for all of the wood makes this modular racking system look and feel professional.
